ROJECT 00 5
PROJECT TITLE:    SMALLHOLDER POULTRY DEVELOPMENT PROJECT (SPDP)
In a world faced with declining oil supplier, the comparative advantage will shift from large scale oil dependent farm to small integrated farm producing most of their needs. In such a scenario, small livestock species especially poultry, pigs, goats, sheep and rabbits, will be most useful animal. This is in view of the low investment, reduced risks, adaptation to recycling system, capacity to use local feed and easy management by youth farmers.
Not only do livestock provide highly nutritive milk, egg and meat, but also feather, fibre and hides.
There is the need for farmers to increase the productivity and efficiencies of their livestock as part of sustainable integrated system, that make use of locally available resources. The most limiting factor for livestock production is the inadequate supply of good quality and quantity feed through out the year.
The availability of sufficient amounts of high quantity local feed is important for small scale farmers who usually do not have the resources to buy commercial feed. This is where the question of small feed mills and grinders comes in, the first step to industrialization. The group is requesting for funding to put in place small feed mills and grinder to convert the tons of locally available feedstuff in the area into quantitative and qualitative poultry feed and subsequently pig and rabbit feed, stimulate the poultry sector by playing a role in the rural area by contributing to the growth of national economy through the purchase of fertilized eggs incubation and hatching of day old chicks. This is the epicenter of this project. Feed constitute 70 – 80% of the total economic input of poultry husbandry. Therefore we have to improve the quantity and quality of feed by conventional or unconventional sources without attendant increase in its production cost in a sustainable manner.

PROJECT 0026
Project Title:  Talents and Cultural Show Box
This annual fair will target  underprivileged, school dropouts and uneducated young people in the North West of Cameroon and has as aim to Identify and promote young dormant talents, thereby contributing towards the Government’s effort to promote micro enterprise and cultural diversity amongst young people especially, and also to promote sustainable livelihoods and self-employment.

NYDO equally plan to raise enough funds to jump-start young talents and cultural activities that will be identified as well as help beneficiaries register micro enterprises so that they could sell their talents.

PROJECT 007
Project Title:   Plastics, the Environment and Human Health
Plastics have transformed everyday life; usage is increasing and annual production is likely to exceed 600 million tonnes by 2020. It is evident that plastics bring many societal benefits and offer future technological and medical advances. However, concerns about usage and disposal are diverse and include accumulation of waste in landfills and in natural habitats, physical problems for wildlife resulting from ingestion or entanglement in plastic, the leaching of chemicals from plastic products and the potential for plastics to transfer chemicals to wildlife and humans and our current usage is not sustainable. Around 4 per cent of world oil production is used as a feedstock to make plastics and a similar amount is used as energy in the process. Yet over a third of current production is used to make items of packaging, which are then rapidly discarded. Given our declining reserves of fossil fuels, and finite capacity for disposal of waste to landfill, this linear use of hydrocarbons, via packaging and other short-lived applications of plastic, is simply not sustainable. There are solutions, including material reduction, design for end-of-life recyclability, increased recycling capacity, development of bio-based feedstocks, strategies to reduce littering, the application of green chemistry life-cycle analyses and revised risk assessment approaches. Such measures will be most effective through the combined actions of the public, industry, scientists and policymakers. There is some urgency, as the quantity of plastics produced in the first 10 years of the current century is likely to approach the quantity produced in the entire century that preceded.
NYDO seeks to carry on general recycling of all types of plastic waste; be it electronic or home use plastic produce various appliances with it (PVC Pipes, Plastic Cups, buckets, plates etc.)
NYDO seeks to acquire and install plastic recycling, granulating, grading and moulding machines to achieve this vision.

PROJECT 0082
Project Title: HIV/AIDS Prevention amongst Youths and Adolescents.
with the aim of informing and educating the youth and adolescent populations of the North West province in general and Bamenda in particular on HIV/AIDS prevention and Care in general and their Sexual Reproductive health and Rights in particular.
Through this NYDO intended:
To increase and reinforce involvement of youth and adolescents in the fight against HIV/AIDS and to continue reducing the morbidity caused by Sexual and Reproductive Health and Opportunistic infections problems through an increased uptake of Reproductive Health services
To mobilize a wider youth and adolescent population towards the projects activities
To generate information exchange on a domain in which many stakeholders prefer to talk low.

ROJECT 00 1
MICRO PROJECT ON SOYA BEANS PRODUCTION AND MARKETING

POJECT TITLE: Soya Beans Production/Marketing of Related  products

JUSTIFICATION:
Soya bean is a very rich source of organic protein. It is a legume thus capable of improving soil fertility. It also has a short cycle consequently could be planted twice a year. It has a very high oil content and it is a very good source of animal feed. It can be transformed into other useful products like cooking oil, milk, cake, biscuits, etc. it generates income in a very short time. The yields of soya beans are very high for example one gram can produce at least half a glass of soya beans.

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT:
The project is about the production of soya beans for consumption and marketing. The various activities involved will include; land preoccupation, seed acquisition, acquisition of processing machines, harvesting, drying, processing/transformation, consumption /marketing.

PROJECT 002
SOCIO-PROFESSIONAL INSERTION OF THE GIRL YOUTH.

In Cameroon, the female folk constitutes a very significant portion of the population and according to statistical revelations stands out as the vulnerable sex which is most hit by sex related ills (STI, HIV/AIDS Unwanted Pregnancies).

Paradoxically, this sex remains the most socio economically underprivileged. Bearing in mind that the genesis and the bed of these ills have a long lasting relationship with unemployment, poverty, and illiteracy

With the above evidence, it is the concern of the National Youth  development Organization in to concentrate some efforts on the socio professional insertion of this sex with special attention to the youth bracket. This bearing in mind that the youth age bracket, cutting across all the sexes remains the most highly vulnerable age group for diverse reasons ranging from social, economic, biological, psychological etc.

THE TARGET POPULATION:
The direct beneficiaries of this project are out of school youths within the area of intervention aged between 11 – 26years.
